The time goes by so fast.  It's been about 3 months since I started my social media sabbatical.  I have to admit that I'm loving it.   I have crept back on facebook or twitter for just a quick peek every once in a while.  However, the time that I've intentionally taken has been good for me.  I have accomplished my goal of digging back into the Bible more.   I have a new love for the Psalms.   And The Message version of the Bible has really spoken to me as well.

I don't think I'm quite ready to plunge back into the world of social networking quite yet on a full scale.  However, one thought I've been pondering is "do I want my blog to be a way to engage with the mass public and the current culture?".   If Yes, I must engage in social media.  As a person that follows Jesus, my job in this life is to be an encourager, a light to others to live a more intentional life.  That's just one role, but it is a role that I take seriously.   Social networking is such a great platform for this.

Over the last 3 months God has really given me a renewed love for His Word.    If it's been a while since you've really dug into your Bible, start today.
